CHC’s specialized therapy environments that go beyond the typical clinical setting. These spaces support emotional regulation, skill-building, and meaningful connection in ways that feel natural, safe, and engaging.
CHC’s Multi-Sensory Room is a calming, therapeutic space designed to support emotional regulation and sensory exploration. Featuring soothing lights, sounds, textures, and interactive tools, it helps children reduce anxiety, build focus, and develop self-regulation skills. Ideal for those with sensory processing challenges or needing extra emotional support, this space fosters comfort and growth in a safe, engaging setting.
Therapists use the room to guide children through sensory play that eases anxiety or overstimulation. Tools like weighted blankets and vibration devices help develop self-soothing techniques, while activities improve focus, motor skills, and body awareness—all in a supportive and interactive environment.
Our occupational therapy gym is a dynamic, sensory-friendly space designed to help children build motor skills, coordination, strength, and confidence through play-based activities and therapeutic exercises. Equipped with swings, climbing structures, balance beams, and other specialized tools, the gym provides a safe and engaging environment for skill development.
Therapists use this space to create individualized activities that target fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, self-regulation, and social interaction. By incorporating movement and hands-on play, therapists help children improve focus, develop coping strategies, and build the skills needed for everyday tasks.
Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is a hands-on coaching program designed to help parents address challenging behaviors, improve communication, and build positive parent-child interactions. It focuses on teaching parents practical skills to manage behavior while strengthening the parent-child bond.
This therapy is complemented by CHC’s specialty therapy room. The Bug-in-the-Ear (BITE) room is a specialized therapy space equipped with a one-way mirror and audio technology that allows clinicians to coach parents or caregivers in real-time during PCIT. Using an earpiece, therapists provide live guidance and feedback, helping parents practice effective communication, discipline strategies, and positive reinforcement while interacting with their child. This hands-on approach supports immediate skill-building and improves parent-child relationships.
