Need Help? Call CHC:

Joaquin Burciaga, PhD is a clinical program manager and licensed clinical psychologist specializing in neuropsychology at CHC, providing behavioral, cognitive/neuropsychological, psycho-educational, and social/emotional assessments for children, teens and young adults. Dr. Burciaga’s approach to assessment focuses on identifying clients’ strengths and weaknesses in order to accurately diagnose and plan personalized interventions for each client. As part of this process, he reviews the results with parents and clients so that they will have a better understanding of their abilities and mental health. Dr. Burciaga’s recommendations are tailored to help parents better support and advocate for their child, and schools better address the student’s educational needs.

Dr. Burciaga specializes in assessing and diagnosing ADHD, learning disorders, various emotional disorders, and other developmental disorders and neurological conditions. Prior to joining CHC, Dr. Burciaga worked in various healthcare settings and in a private practice, with children, adolescents, adults and older adults. His life span approach to neuropsychology allows him to project forward into a child’s life to identify areas of support early in a child’s/adolescent’s life in order to help families address them before they become fixed behaviors later in life.

Dr. Burciaga earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and German from the California State University, Northridge, graduating Cum Laude. He maintains conversational proficiency in German. He went on to complete a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from the same institution. He earned his PhD in Psychology, with an emphasis Clinical Neuropsychology from the University of Cincinnati.
