Sand Hill School Summer Program

CHC’s Sand Hill School offers a summer experience that blends skill-building, confidence, and fun for students with learning differences.

For students entering grades 2–8 

Designed specifically for students with dyslexia, ADHD, language-based learning differences, or school-based anxiety, the Sand Hill School Summer Program offers an engaging and supportive environment where students feel safe to learn, grow, and enjoy.

What to Expect

Our four-week summer session is ideal for children who face challenges in reading, writing, spelling, or math during the school year. The program blends evidence-based academic instruction with activities focused on social-emotional learning, executive functioning, and good old-fashioned summer fun.

Program Highlights

Small Group Instruction in reading, writing, and math, tailored to each child’s needs

Executive Functioning Skills like planning, organizing, and self-advocacy

Social-Emotional Learning through games, mindfulness, and team-building

Outdoor Fun & Exploration including science experiments, field games, nature walks, and more

A Typical Day

Each morning begins with a responsive classroom meeting to foster connection and build SEL/EF skills.

Students then rotate through small-group learning and play-based activities:

8:15 – 8:30 AM

Arrival

8:30 – 8:55 AM

Morning meeting + social emotional/ executive functioning activities

9:00 – 9:55 AM

Reading

9:55 – 10:25 AM

Break (snack from home)

10:30 – 11:25 AM

Math

11:30 – 12:00 PM

Specials (recreation, enrichment activities)

12:00 – 12:15 PM

Lunch (provided from home)

12:15 – 12:30 PM

Dismissal + Free Play
