RISE is CHC’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for teens ages 13-18 facing suicidal thoughts, recent attempts, or repetitive self-harm. Developed in partnership with Stanford Children’s Health, RISE provides unparalleled support for teens navigating their most challenging moments.
RISE is grounded in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), an evidence-based approach that equips teens with essential life skills. Our program centers on four key areas:
Through structured support and expert guidance, RISE empowers teens to navigate challenges and build a life worth living.
An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) like CHC’s RISE is a critical next step in the healing process after hospitalization. Mental health professionals agree that recovery doesn’t happen overnight—it requires structured, ongoing support to create lasting change.
RISE uses Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to provide individual and group therapy, helping teens build coping skills.
Teens and parents participate in twice-weekly sessions designed to strengthen family relationships and improve communication.
Teens have access to around-the-clock phone coaching for in-the-moment support when facing challenges.
A low client-to-clinician ratio ensures personalized attention and a supportive peer environment.
The program’s duration increases the likelihood of meaningful progress and long-term success.
RISE is led by experienced, licensed clinicians specializing in adolescent mental health.
Adolescent psychiatry services are integrated into treatment to support overall well-being.
RISE supports teens through care transitions, coordinating with providers, schools, and medical teams.
Parents join a 6-week DBT coaching group and twice-weekly skills sessions, receiving regular check-ins, coaching, psychoeducation, and phone support.
RISE is designed for adolescents ages 13-18 (grades 8-12) with:
Suicidal thoughts and/or behaviors
Self-harm behaviors (e.g., cutting)
Significant decrease in functioning at school and/or at home
Severe symptoms of anxiety and/or depression
Significant difficulty regulating emotions
