Children’s Health Council Welcomes Carlina Ramirez Wheeler, PhD, and Tara Keith, MS, MA to Leadership Team

Children’s Health Council is pleased to announce two key new members of our leadership team: Carlina Ramirez Wheeler, PhD, has joined as our new Director of Training, effective July 8, and Tara Keith, MS, MA has been named Director of the Esther B. Clark schools, effective July 15. We are excited to welcome both of them to CHC.

Carlina Ramirez Wheeler

A licensed and credentialed psychologist, Dr. Ramirez Wheeler most recently served as Assistant Clinical Professor and Training Director for the Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology Internship Program and Fellowship Program at the University of California Davis Health, Department of Psychiatry. She was a Health Sciences Clinical Faculty and Residency Core Faculty member teaching in the Clinical Child Psychology Programs, General Psychiatry Residency, and the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Programs. She currently serves as the Chair of the APPIC Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee. She is bilingual (English/Spanish) and holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology.  

CHC is committed to training the next generation of ethical, culturally sensitive, and clinically informed psychologists. Since 1990, our partnership with Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital has provided broad-based experiential training in child and pediatric psychology in both inpatient and outpatient settings, contributing to the development of highly skilled child psychologists. 

Dr. Ramirez Wheeler’s expertise will help us build on our rich history of training and allow us to continue developing the program to attract and serve future psychologists. 

Ms. Keith brings a wealth of experience in both nonpublic and public school roles. She has served as a special education teacher, a site administrator, and a district administrator, and has worked in school districts in Menlo Park, Millbrae, Palo Alto, and Campbell. 

Ms. Keith is a dedicated leader, educator, and parent committed to access, equity, support, and wellness in education. She is passionate about creating systems that support students and their families, ensuring every student feels valued, connected, and inspired. She believes in the potential of all children to learn and thrive, emphasizing a holistic approach to education. Her leadership is characterized by high emotional intelligence, a deep connection to student progress and wellbeing, and a steadfast commitment to ensuring that no student goes unnoticed. Her positive mindset and deep knowledge will be valuable contributions to the Esther B. Clark Schools community.
